Two Masterclasses

2 Hours Each
01

International Sales for Independent Films

Understanding the markets, building a sales strategy, and identifying the distribution channels suited to independent cinema - from Europe and Latin America to Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

02

AI Tools for Film Production

A concrete, practical overview of the artificial intelligence tools now transforming screenwriting, production, and post-production.

Built From Real
Market Experience

Territory by Territory

Bluebox's international sales masterclass looks at how independent films actually reach the market, territory by territory - with dedicated studies covering European, South American, African, Middle Eastern, and Asian cinema. Delivered as a two-hour session for producers and directors, it covers how the major markets work, the real role of a sales agent, and today's distribution circuits - from streaming platforms to regional distribution funds. Delivered as a coaching module at festivals - get in touch for pricing.

These masterclasses can also be extended into a dedicated five-day coaching programme, led by a team of experts covering international sales, project accompaniment, and AI-driven artistic creation.

We've already delivered these masterclasses in the field: with the Institut français du Togo, on AI tools and international sales, and at the Marrakech Short Film Festival, on international sales - alongside numerous conference appearances at other international film events.

Thirty Years
in the Room

Gilles Duffaut has worked for thirty years in international film sales, production, and distribution, having sold or distributed more than 150 films - several of them co-produced by his own companies. He has a deep knowledge of international film financing, and stays active in the market year-round, with around ten new films selected for sale or distribution in Europe each year.

Alongside this, he spent ten years producing institutional films for the European Commission's DEVCO/EuropeAid directorate - working annually in Brussels at the EC headquarters, as well as on programmes in Costa Rica, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, in Africa, and in other regions of the world.

He has also directed, moderated, and taught at industry gatherings across the film world - including co-directing and moderating Le Café du Film de Rabat (2012, 2014), a four-day event gathering around 50 European industry experts alongside Moroccan filmmakers, producers, and audiovisual school students.

More recently, he delivered both masterclasses at the Togo European Film Festival - one on international market strategy, one on artificial intelligence tools applied to cinema.
